Sundowns close gap on Pirates

Mamelodi Sundowns have closed the gap on log leaders Orlando Pirates after beating relegation-threatened Baroka FC in the only Absa premiership encounter played this weekend.

Sundowns have beaten Baroka FC by 2 goals to 1 in a league game played at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane to remain title rivals to log leaders Pirates.

Coach Pitso Mosimane says they have prioritised some competitions to enable them to achieve their goal.

The Baroka situation has been deteriorated after losing to Sundowns.

The Telkom Cup champions have dropped to second position on the bottom of the log. Coach Wedson Nyirenda has blamed referee’s decision for their defeat.

“This is one of the match which will go down in my history in the PSL league I saw a lot of things which I never seen before I have to see review again in the TV so that I can see it properly again because I don’t know how it make it out of it most of the decision  I don’t know yes we killed ourselves for not taking the chances that we converted but I think the boys accounted themselves very well we were playing a very good team but I think something was amiss,” says Nyirenda.
