Sundowns clinch their eleventh League title

Mamelodi Sundowns has continued with their dominance in South African top-flight football after clinching their eleventh League title with a 3-0 win over Cape Town City in Pretoria.

Sundowns became the first club to lose only a single match throughout the season.

The Pretoria club also finished as the top goal scorers this season with 49 goals.

Lyle Lakay scored the opening goal for Sundowns with Namibian Peter Shalulile scoring a brace in the second half.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates will return to the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing third in the League despite a goalless draw against TTM in Orlando.

Kaizer Chiefs sneaked into the top eight bracket after narrowly beating TS Galaxy 1-0 at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Amakhosi pipped TS Galaxy who also finished on 36 points with a better goal difference.
