Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi has called on the Premier League and the South African Football Association to address concerns around how the league is officiated.
Mngqithi was speaking following the weekend’s match against Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala stadium.
Sundowns lost 2-1. Mngqithi alleges that the referees had a helping hand in their defeat.
“We have lost our second match in the season both matches that we have lost this season were because of dubious decision. The first lost to Amazulu was clear offside, the second lost now to Maritzburg. Now you are saying to yourself have to lose matches because of the decisions of the referees or do we have to lose because matches because we’re not doing what we are supposed to do. We take a blame for not as many goals that we could have scored but on the other side we are saying no man let’s not turn our league to a banana league.”
