DA leader John Steenhuisen has hinted that the party will continue with coalition discussions with other parties particularly in the Gauteng metros.
The party gained all three of the province’s metros this week with DA mayors being elected in the City of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni and Tshwane.
It earlier pulled out of the discussions after rejecting ActionSA president Herman Mashaba as the mayoral candidate for Johannesburg.
The party now runs minority governments in the metros which will present a challenge for the party in passing key budgets and policies in the councils.
Steenhuizen says the party has to find ways of working with other parties.
