South Africa’s try-scoring machine, Cheslin Kolbe, is in doubt for Sunday’s Rugby Championship match against Australia in the Gold Coast suburb of Robina in Queensland.
The wing took a knock to his leg on Friday and has not trained with the squad since then.
A final decision on Kolbe’s availability will be made on Wednesday when the 23-man squad for the match is announced.
All the other players, including World Cup final man-of-the-match, Duane Vermeulen, have a clean bill of health.
The eighth man recently recovered from an ankle operation.
