South African brand of football has to be nourished and grown: Da Gama

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Highlands Park coach Owen da Gama believes that the South African brand of football needs to be further developed and nourished and therefore it would be crucial that SAFA announce a local coach in their next appointment for national team coach.

SAFA are eager to fill the vacant Bafana Bafana position after Stuart Baxter vacated this position two weeks ago following a second unsuccessful spell in charge of the national team.

South Africa has its own brand of football and Da Gama feels the team should play to their strengths and find a way against West and North African sides that tend to rely on their physicality.

Da Gama recommends a few local coaches that he thinks can change the national team’s fortunes. – Report by Jefferson Lupuwana
