South Africa records 3 740 new coronavirus cases, 213 deaths on Monday

The number of recoveries currently stands at 417 200 which translates to a recovery rate of 74%.

South Africa has recorded 213 coronavirus (COVID-19) related deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 10 621. Meanwhile, the daily number of new COVID-19 infections continue to drop as compared to the last few weeks, recording 3 740 new cases on Monday.

This brings the total accumulative number of people who have tested positive for the virus now stands at 563 598.

Gauteng’s total is surging towards the 200 000 mark, with the confirmed cases in the province standing at 193 561.

The number of recoveries currently stands at 417 200 which translates to a recovery rate of 74%.

The total number of tests conducted to date is 3 267 494 with 16 911 new tests conducted since the last report.
