South Africa has recorded nine more deaths from COVID-19 pushing the death toll from the virus to 247. There are 13 524 confirmed cases of the virus according to the Health Department.
The number of recoveries is at 6 083 while over 420 000 tests have been conducted thus far.

Coronavirus on the rise in Correctional Services
The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) on Friday announced 14 new COVID-19 cases, following seven officials and four inmates from the Western Cape and two officials from the Eastern Cape testing positive.
The Northern Cape has registered one additional case.
The total number of cases is now at 378, whilst the number of recoveries remain at 92.
