Kaizer Chiefs Coach Giovanni Solinas and his striker Khama Billiat have been voted coach and player of the month for September. This is for the second time this season that Chiefs makes a clean sweep at the Absa Premiership monthly awards.

After facing a difficult start to the season which saw Amakhosi go four matches without a league win in August, things finally fell into place for the Soweto giants in September.

The Italian-born coach was rewarded for guiding his side to these three consecutive wins in an unbeaten month for the club.

Chiefs’ next match will be against Polokwane City at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

The game will be played behind closed doors after Chiefs fans were found guilty of causing violence at the same venue when the club lost to Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup semi-final in April.
