The announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa to include former Cape Town mayor and now GOOD Party leader Patricia de Lille in his Cabinet, has been widely welcomed on social media.

On Wednesday night, during his Cabinet announcement, Ramaphosa told the nation that De Lille would now be the Minister in the Department of Public Works.

De Lille trended on Twitter since the announcement and continued to trend on Thursday morning.

Social media users also took the opportunity to congratulate Ramaphosa for not including former ministers like Bathabile Dlamini in his new Cabinet.
