Smith, Bancroft wont appeal Cricket Australia’s sanctions

Banned former Australian cricket captain Steve Smith and opening batsman Cameron Bancroft will not appeal the sanctions imposed on them by Cricket Australia following the ball tampering scandal in South Africa.

In a post on his Twitter account, Smith re-iterated that he said he would take full responsibility for his actions and that he accepted the punishment handed down by Cricket Australia. He will therefore not appeal the sanction.

His announcement was quickly followed by a similar statement from Bancroft.
