A North West businessman accused of manufacturing and selling fake Home Affairs smart identity cards to farm workers will know his trial date when he appears in the Brits magistrate’s court on Monday morning.

The case was postponed last month due to unavailability of a prosecutor.

Simon Pelle of Letlhabile is facing more than 600 charges of fraud.

He was arrested in 2015 while attempting to deliver some of the fake smart ID cards to farm workers in one of the farms.

He was targeting mainly foreign nationals from Zimbabwe and Mozambique working on the farms around Kameeldrift outside Brits.
