Slikour, Zakwe pay tribute to Pro Kid

At a time when South African hip-hop was in its infancy and largely influenced by the American sound, came a fresh new artist from Soweto and turned the entire game on its head by waxing lyrical in vernacular.

Linda Mkhize popularly known as Pro Kid used his music and sound to document South Africa’s township culture.

In 2005 he released his debut album titled Heads & Tails taking the industry by storm coining the catchphrase Dankie Saan in the process.

He went on to become one of South Africa’s legendary rappers influencing countless artists along the way before he met his death this past Wednesday. To help us pay tribute to the Wozobona, Uthini Ngo Pro, Bhampa hit maker we are joined by hip hop artists Zakwe and Slikour on Morning Live:
