Minister in the Presidency Dr Nkosazana Dlamini- Zuma says ANC Stalwart Zola Skweyiya provided her with guidance during the first administration post apartheid.

Speaking at Skweyiya’s funeral service at the Christian Revival Church, Dlamini-Zuma says Skweyiya had a wealth of knowledge and did not mind sharing that knowledge with others. Dlamini-Zuma says she did not know much about government and was trained by Skweyiya. She adds that he generously provided guidance as the Minister of Public Administration especially when they negotiated public servants’ salaries.

She added that Skweyiya loved children. Dlamini-Zuma says that when her daughter went to study in England and was struggling to find accommodation, Skweyiya and his family opened their home to her. Also paying tribute to Skweyiya, Professor Stan Sangweni says the scenes coming from Mahikeng are something that Skweyiya would not wanted to see. President Cyril Ramaphosa visited the area on Friday following violent protests. Sangweni says Skweyiya was committed to service delivery. He urged government to revolve problems in Mahikeng.
