Six people have been injured after a truck and a car collided on the R59 near Meyerton south of Johannesburg.

It’s believed the truck went out of control and veered across the highway into oncoming traffic.

Medhelp emergency services spokesperson, Dean Slater says upon arrival paramedics found that a truck and a civilian vehicle had collided and rolled, leaving one driver entrapped.

He says patients with injuries ranging from minor to moderate were stabilised on scene and the jaws of life were used to remove the entrapped driver.

All patients were transported to hospital in a stable condition.

Authorities were on scene to investigate the exact cause of the accident.
