Singh sold SA to the highest bidder: Mazzone

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Democratic Alliance (DA) member of the Eskom parliamentary inquiry Natasha Mazzone says former Eskom CFO Anoj Singh has sold South Africa to the highest bidder and that he will face criminal charges.

Singh faced various questions on whether he had knowledge on how various Gupta linked companies allegedly benefited from contracts with Eskom.

Mazzone was not happy with the responses given by Singh.

“I have lodged criminal charges against you because I have known too well that you are a technical genius who would come and try and spin stories here in Parliament. Mr Singh you know these charges are being investigated. I have given over the documents. We know what the truth is. And Mr Singh given your testimony here tonight; let me tell you what South Africa thinks. South Africa thinks you have sold us out to the highest bidder.”

Meanwhile, Singh says he never met President Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane nor did he ever receive any instructions from the President.

This after Mazzone told Singh that he has a relationship with one of the Gupta brothers who is a business partner with Duduzane.

Singh’s questioning, which carried on until the early hours of Wednesday morning, has also generated a lot of interest on social media.
