The bail application of a 29-year-old businessman accused of kidnapping and killing Durban North woman Siam Lee, continues in the Durban Regional Court on Thursday.

On Wednesday the court heard that the State’s evidence in the matter was obtained unlawfully.

During cross-examination by the defence, investigating officer, Detective Warrant officer Rajan Govender could not explain how officers searched the house of the accused without a warrant.

The private investigator Brad Nathanson and his “crew” had gained access to the accused’s home in Kloof west of Durban before the SAPS arrived.

The accused cannot be named because one of the 16 charges he faces is raping another woman.

He was arrested at his Hillcrest home two weeks after Lee was abducted outside her alleged workplace, a “brothel”.
