Sexual offences court on the cards

Justice Minister Jeff Radebe says that Government is very serious about fighting both corruption and the increasing incidence of rape.Speaking on SABC 2’s Morning Live on February 25, Radebe says they are working hard to fight rape with better court procedures, specifically establishing a sexual offences court by the middle of this year. “Community, police forums, family all need to report the culprits and this will all help,” he says.
Since this insert, on March 7, Radebe said the Sexual Offences Courts will start operating In April. “It is envisaged that the 58 courts, during the first six months of the financial year beginning in April, will be fully functional in terms of this revised model and we shall make announcements during the course of the year, ” he added.
