Several Western Cape hotels named as must stay locations for travellers

Conde Naste listed South Africa as one of the top travel destinations in 2021.

Several hotels in Cape Town and the Western Cape have been named as must stay locations for travellers by Conde Naste.

The agency has also listed South Africa as one of the top travel destinations in 2021.

Cape Town Mayor Dan Plato says this is a positive sign for the future.

“The global COVID-19  pandemic has had a major impact on international travel and tourism all over the world, but there is still much to be seen and experienced as innovation becomes the focus. International travellers can soon use our city as a base for remote working as landscape of working changes.”

Tourism Equity Fund

This week, a R1.2 billion Tourism Equity Fund was launched to bolster transformation.

The Fund was launched jointly by the Departments of Tourism and Small Business Development.

It is aimed at assisting small black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs in the hard-hit industry.

CEO of the Tourism Business Council of South Africa, Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa, gives more insight on the fund:
