Seven injured in bus crash in E Cape

Seven people have been injured after a Translux bus crashed into a house in Dangwana village between Qumbu and Mount Frere, Eastern Cape.

Transport spokesperson Khuselwa Rantjie says the bus, which was en route from Johannesburg to Cape Town, collided with a bakkie that was coming from the village.

Rantjie says four of the injured are in a critical condition in hospital.

“A total of seven people escaped with minor to critical injuries following a vehicle crash on the N2 between Qumbu and Mount Frere.”

“This occurred when a bus and an Isuzu bakkie crashed near Dangwana village, critically injuring four people. The injured are receiving medical assistance at Madzikane Kazulu memorial hospital. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.”
