Democratic Alliance leader (DA) Mmusi Maimane‘s goal for South Africa is to send the governing party to the opposition benches.

Maimane addressed journalists  after he met with the leadership of the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) at the commissions headquarters in Centurion on Wednesday.

Claims of an orchestrated African National Congress (ANC) shutdown protest in Alexandra, Ace Magashule ‘gifting’ a voter with money and the Electoral Commission of South Africa’s (IEC) inconsistency around resolving complaints lodged to them are just some issues that prompted the DA to meet with the Commission’s officials.

Maimane took a swipe at the ANC, saying his mission is to end the ruling parties reign.

“The ANC is fully behind these shutdowns. My goal for South Africa is to reduce the ANC’s support to less than 50%.”

In addition, the opposition leader claims IEC will be looking into the DA’s claims against the ANC. “The IEC has given me a guarantee that they will undertake an investigation.”
