Only the child's trousers were found along the Vaal River.

Delportshoops community members in North West are helping the police with their search for a child who was allegedly abducted by a man attemping to rape her mom.

Meanwhile, a 41-year-old man arrested in connection with her disappearance and attempted rape of the child’s mother, briefly appeared in the Barkley West Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

The police’s search and rescue mission continues unabated. Only the child’s trousers were found along the Vaal River.

The suspect will be back in the dock on Wednesday.
