Reading Time: < 1 minute

The attempted murder trial of Mark Scott Crossley for allegedly running over Silence Mabunda is expected to resume in the Lenyenye regional court outside Tzaneen in Limpopo on Tuesday.

The defence will continue to cross examine Mabunda, who worked at a wildlife centre.

Mabunda, who is still walking on crunches, previously told the court that the suspect made racial utterances before smashing his phone against the ground outside a shop in Hoedspruit over a year ago.

Scott-Crossely is known for serving a prison sentence for ordering his farm workers to throw Nelson Chisale into a lion enclosure in 2004.

He was released from prison in 2010 rearrested in January 2017 after being on the run for weeks after allegedly running Mabunda over several times.
