A group of 30 doctors have been left unemployed in Limpopo after their contracts were not renewed by the department of health.
The doctors who have been working at clinics across the Vhembe district under the National Health Insurance (NHI) pilot project that was launched by Minister Aaron Motsoaledi about two years ago.
An anonymous doctor told the SABC that the situation has a negative impact on patients who are seeking services as they are now forced to travel long distances to the already overcrowded hospitals.
