The fight will be held in Lafayette in the state of Louisiana on April the 27th.

South Africa’s World Boxing Organisation bantamweight champion, Zolani Tete is on his way to the United States for the biggest fight of his career against American-based Filipino, Nonito Donaire.

Donaire is a five-time world champion in four different weight classes.

The fight will be held in Lafayette in the state of Louisiana on April the 27th.

“Remember, Nonito Donaire is a five time world champion. There is no way that we could underestimate him. He is a credible opponent. Let’s put it this way, this is the first time Zolani will be fighting a boxer who is at his level. So our preparations this time were a bit different,” said Tete’s manager, Mlamli Tengimfene, before their departure.

Meanwhile, Tete’s East London home boy, Azinga Fuzile, will be involved in an International Boxing Federation junior lightweight title eliminator before the end of the year.

Fuzile was impressive in his last fight when he outpointed Mexican, Rumilo Koasicha.

Tete’s trainer, Colin Nathan, says negotiations for an IBF title eliminator are already under way..
