SA’s Lerena to fight Romania’s Dinu on Saturday

Respected South African boxing promoter, Rodney Berman, says the country will soon produce a top international heavyweight.

South African boxer Kevin Lerena will be up against Bogdan Dinu of Romania for the WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight title at Emperors Palace on Saturday evening.

Lerena, the talented cruiserweight champion of the International Boxing Organisation has moved up to the heavyweight division and the 29-year-old. He will fight for the second time in this division this weekend.

Lerena has a very good record as a cruiserweight with 26 wins, and only one loss in his professional career. The southpaw won 13 of his fights by knock-out. He’s held the IBO cruiserweight title since 2017 and says he’s up for the new challenge.
