SA’s COVID-19 positivity rate at 9.2% in past 24-hours

A woman gets tested by a health worker for coronavirus.

The latest COVID-19 stats in South Africa show a 9.2% positivity rate after 3 049 people tested positive for the virus from a total of 33 117 tests in the last 24 hours.

Due to the ongoing audit exercise by the National Department of Health (NDoH), there may be a backlog of COVID-19 mortality cases reported. Today, the NDoH reports 114 deaths and of these, 13 occurred in the past 24 – 48 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 94 056.
