Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth is being investigated for an alleged assault and racial slander incident in Langebaan in August.

The South African Rugby Union (SARU) says it will continue to fulfil all requests regarding a matter between Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth and the Khoisan Defiance Campaign. The Campaign approached the South African Human Rights Commission to investigate allegations of racism against Etzebeth following an alleged assault and racial slander incident in Langebaan in August.

SARU says it cannot comment further on their investigation as it is a confidential matter between themselves and Etzebeth. The Human Rights Commission is on Thursday holding a mass meeting in Langebaan on the matter.

The Commisssion will also pursue legal proceedings with the Equality Court tomorrow against Etzebeth.
