SARS attach equipment belonging to two Pretoria radiologists

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) says assets belonging to a practice of two diagnostic radiologists have been attached due to an outstanding tax debt of R52 million.

Dr Zulu Mkhabele and Dr Mevis Ponde are the directors of the practice based at Louis Pasteur Private Hospital, in Pretoria.

SARS says the debt emanates from the submission of various tax returns to SARS, without payments being made for over three years.

SARS says the taxpayer applied for a compromise which was declined.

A new final demand letter was sent, however the taxpayer did not respond.
