The South African Police Service (SAPS) will hold a memorial service for slain top cop Lieutenant-Colonel Charl Kinnear in Belhar on the Cape Flats on Wednesday morning.
A wreath laying ceremony will also take place in the area.
The top Anti-Gang Unit investigator was gunned down outside his home more than a week ago.
He was involved in probing high profile cases relating to the alleged criminal underworld.
Former rugby player Zane Kilian has been charged with his murder.
