The SA National Defence Force says there is nothing strange about Brian Molefe being called up to work with them, as he has been an honorary Colonel and a reservist since 2009.
There’ve been reports that the former Eskom CEO has received a salary of R57 000 a month from the SANDF since August.
SANDF spokesperson, Sphiwe Dlamini says, “Brian Molefe has been associated with the defence force even prior to him being the PIC CEO, and it is during the time when he was CEO that he and many others were incorporated in the defence force in particular in his case in the audit section of the pool of specialists. Remember he is a chartered accountant and he’s recruited into the pool of specialists to assist the department in various skills that are required in the department of defence, the army or any other service for that matter.”
