The South African National Defence Force, SANDF, has intercepted more than a thousand undocumented foreign nationals trying to illegally cross the Groblersbridge border line into Zimbabwe via Botswana.
According to information, the interception of Zimbabwean nationals was made along the Groblersbridge border post outside Lephalale in Limpopo.
During the interception, a South African National Defence Force member was wounded by an aggressive undocumented foreign national but the aggressor was subdued. The defence member received treatment at the scene.
The undocumented foreign nationals were handed over to the police for processing.
Editorial Note: This story has been corrected. The foreign nationals were intercepted while trying to illegally cross the Groblersbridge border line into Zimbabwe via Botswana and not into South Africa as earlier reported.
