The Salvation Army in Pretoria has reached out to the less fortunate by giving food and gifts to people living on the streets.

They have appealed to communities to put a smile on the faces of the homeless, by at least giving them food.

Residents distributed food parcels, and brought smiles to the little children. Just across the road from the church is a stark reality of what life on the streets is like.

Despite their hardships many say they’ve accepted their circumstances. Most of them live on the Pretoria Events Centre pavement, they are hoping to one day receive divine intervention.

While many may be indulging during the festive season, homeless people, like Griffin Bebe pray for good weather.

The Salvation Army is hoping to provide for the homeless beyond the festive season.
