SAJBD says the ANC is acting in exactly the same unilateral way it accuses American President Donald Trump of doing.

The South African Jewish Board of Deputies (SAJBD) and the South African Zionist Federation have condemned the ANC’s resolution to downgrade the South African Embassy in Israel.

The two organisations say the decision will prevent South Africa from playing any mediatory role in bringing about peace between Israel and Palestine.

This follows an ANC conference resolution to downgrade the South African embassy in Israel to a liaison office.

SAJBD president Zev Krengel says the ANC is acting in exactly the same unilateral way it accuses American President Donald Trump of doing.

“They behaved in a way that Donald Trumo behaved by literally trying to put all the blame on the other and have made themselves irrelevant and they have just extended the conflict. We hope Russians and Chinese have a role to play because as Jewish community of South Africa we want to see the end of conflict.”
