The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (Sahpra) says it is investigating the data released on the report by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The report by the FDA indicates that the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine has over 1 200 side effects, that were not disclosed to the public, until last week.
Speaking during the Webinar, Sahpra CEO Dr Boitumelo Semete-Makokotlela says they are examining the veracity of the document.
“This is a report, we are still in discussions with Pfizer, the local office, that is the applicants in the country as well as the FDA, to understand the authenticity of this report, to understand the status of the report. You may have also noted that there were reports that there was an intention to suppress the data,” explains Semete-Makokotlela.
