Tracking COVID-19 vaccine arrival to SA with Dr Anban Pillay:

Mkhize says his department has been inundated with offers from private agents who are selling vaccines. He says it is critical that any such agent and vaccine authenticity are verified directly with manufacturers.

Meanwhile, the Western Cape Health Department has embarked on a wellness programme for healthcare workers. This as the province passes the peak of the second wave of coronavirus infections.

The provincial department’s Chief Operations Officer, Dr Saadiq Kariem says counselling programmes have been conducted.

“We have some counselling programmes and we have someone on psychological support should staff require that and this is a process we wish to embark upon in the next couple of weeks particularly now that the cases are on the decline, this is a good time to heal ourselves.”
