South African Football legend Professor Mlungisi Ngubane says the state of football in the country is disappointing.
Ngubane believes the South African Football Association (SAFA) has to jerk up if our national teams are to improve their performance in international tournaments.
Ngubane says the senior national team (Bafana Bafana)’s performance at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and make up of the technical bench is a good example of how of bad things are.
The Black Leopards Team Manager believes that the association needs new passionate people who care about football.
Ngubane emphasised that the SAFA electorate has a responsibility to change the status-quo saying the country has had enough learning curves.
The 63-year-old further adds that SAFA also needs to clean up in the regions, citing factions in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
“In KZN we have two associations belonging to SAFA both of them. How can you have two people fighting for one position. If they can’t fix that then it’s difficult for them to get our national team right” Prof Mlungisi Ngubane #SabcNews @SPORTATSABC pic.twitter.com/muZ4fjYiX0
