SADC Foreign Affairs Council to discuss industrialisation

South Africa intends to make its remaining Chairpersonship of Southern African Development Community (SADC) an era to fast track industrialisation and cross border collaboration.

SADC Chair and Minister of International Relations Lindiwe Sisulu says partnership with the private sector will make this vision a reality.

Besides peace and security the meeting is expected to review regional co-operation in trade and health.

Sisulu was opening the meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council in Pretoria.

Meanwhile, senior Officials met over the weekend to thrash out issues for the Ministers to deliberate

Among them the way forward for countries of concern including DRC, Lesotho, Mauritius

Regional industrialization and tourism as well operationalising the SADC Development Fund following a meeting of the Executive Secretary with the African Development Bank are expected to feature high on the agenda.
