Reading Time: < 1 minute

The South African Communist Party (SACP) has taken its election campaign for the local government elections to Durban, in KwaZulu-Natal.

General-Secretary, Dr Blade Nzimande is due to address a workshop of Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) shop stewards.

Hundreds of SACP and COSATU members have braved the cold to attend the meeting at the Curries Fountain Stadium.

COSATU will on Sunday mobilise and encourage its members and volunteers to rally behind its alliance partner, the African National Congress (ANC).

Nzimande is expected to address the shop stewards on the strategic plans they have put in place to campaign for the ANC.
