The South African Communist Party says it fully supports the state capture probe which gets under way in Parktown, Johannesburg on Monday.

The SACP made the statement during a press briefing following its three-day central committee meeting in Kempton Park, Johannesburg.

SACP general-secretary Blade Nzimande says, those who benefited from state capture appear to be fighting back.

“The central committee expressed its full support for those who are standing up to state capture sometimes at personal risk, that’s why we are saying that a fight back is also directed at all sections of South African society. The working class, the poor, the professionals the middle classes. Some of whom are doing a good job but are being undone by this looting that is actually being done by some.”
