The country has seen days of nationwide load shedding.

President Cyril Ramaphosa says sabotage was partly to blame for the power shortages that led to load shedding.

The President was speaking following a meeting with Cabinet Ministers and the Eskom board at Megawatt Park in northern Johannesburg on what led to the severe load shedding.

Among issues listed is the age of the power stations and the rainfall.

President Ramaphosa says the country needs an emergency recovery plan to make sure we get rid of load shedding.

He says someone at Eskom disconnected one of the instruments that finally led to one of the boilers tripping,  leading to power outages.
