In celebration of one of South Africa’s greatest freedom fighters, Oliver Reginald Tambo, the SABC’s Commercial Radio Brands (5FM, Metro FM and Good Hope FM) joined forces to mark the 50-day countdown of his centenary.
The stalwart would have celebrated his 100th birthday this coming October.
The broadcast aimed is to encourage South Africans to celebrate the legacy and the values of OR Tambo and to reflect on the path the country has walked towards freedom.
5FM’s Nick Hamman, Metro FM’s Masechaba Ndlovu and Good Hope FM’s Nigel Pierce will host a panel discussion with invited guests that will include fellow South African’s who knew OR Tambo during his life.
