The SABC is hosting the first of its 2014 Election Debates at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) on Sunday.
The debates will be taking place weekly in the run-up to the polls on May 7. Each live debate will be held in one of the nine provinces across the country.
The debates will are hosted by the SABC’s contributing editor Vuyo Mvoko.
Every week, representatives from various political parties will be invited to participate in election related discussions.
The theme for Sunday’s debate will be Free and Fair Elections in a highly charged atmosphere of violent protests.
Malusi Gigaba (ANC), Mmusi Maimane (DA), Albert Mncwango (IFP), Nhlanhla Khubisa (NFP) and Peter Alexander (UJ) will be participating.
