SABC shocked by death of Umhlobo Wenene FM sport presenter Loyiso Sitsheke

Loyiso Sitsheke had been with the SABC for more than 10 years

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) says it is shocked at the news of the passing of one of the sports presenters of radio station Umhlobo Wenene FM.

Loyiso ‘Lloyd’ Sitsheke died in Johannesburg.  He was 54.

Sitsheke had been with the SABC for more than 10 years, working as a sports presenter and producer at TV News.

He was born at Qumbu in the Eastern Cape and worked at UCR-FM in Mthatha as a presenter before joining the SABC.

Provincial General Manager, Phumzile Mnci says the public broadcaster has lost a great presenter.

“As the SABC and Umhlobo Wenene FM, we’re shocked by the passing of our colleague, Lloyd Sitsheke. We’ll remember him for his brilliant presentation of our sport program, listened to by millions. We’d like to send condolences to family, friends and all listeners of Umhlobo Wenene. We’ve lost a giant of our radio station.”
