Reading Time: 2 minutes

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) will broadcast 2017 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations results including the ministerial announcement on Thursday.

The SABC will present a complete bouquet of events and activities surrounding the announcement at its studios in Johannesburg.

SABC Foundation CEO Iris Cupido says the NSC results announcement has become one of the biggest events in the country, and as the public service broadcaster the SABC has a responsibility to accord it the support it deserves.

“We have a role to play and we believe this partnership with the Department of Basic Education will take the country into the future,” says Cupido.

The SABC will provide comprehensive coverage of this important event on our platforms including 19 radio stations.

The coverage will include a top Achievers Breakfast session on Thursday, the live broadcast of the ministerial announcement on the same day, and a special Morning Live broadcast on Friday to unpack the results.

The SABC’s coverage will also include LiveStreaming of the technical report and the announcement by the minister on Friday.

The SABC Digital News 2017 Matric results dashboard (see below) is also available to offer in-depth information on National Senior Certificate (NSC) results. The dashboard allows users to obtain and track school performance results dating back to 2010.

The Special Report feature offers users a wide range of information on the class of 2017, including a national results overview, school performance, comparisons between private and public schools as well as a breakdown of NSC results by gender.

On a National level, the dashboard offers users the ability to filter the provincial results and provincial pass rate. This makes it possible for users to access information on historic results by province, how provinces fared out in regards to NSC performance.”
