SABC News wins four ATKV media awards

SABC2 won awards as well

SABC News has won four ATKV media awards in Sandton, Johannesburg, Friday evening. Radio current affairs producer Melissa Tighy from RSG, the SABC’s Afrikaans language radio station, won the award for the best radio actuality programme.

Her colleague, Izak du Plessis, won the award for the best actuality story.

Radio journalist Jamaine Krige won the best documentary award on for RSG. Her documentary Knysna: Na die brande, was a look at post the devastating fires that ravaged the region.

Cameraman Byron Taylor SABC2’s  Fokus won the award for the best TV current affairs story.

The SABC also won other awards at the show. Antoinette Louw won the best actress award in a Drama series/ Single drama for Swartwater being broadcast on SABC2.

Erfsondes, also on SABC2, won the Drama series/ Single drama award.
