SABC News Eastern Cape helps the disabled

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Association for Persons with Physical disabilities (APD) Centre in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth, caters for 30 kids with disabilities. These kids are referred to the Centre via Social Workers, hospitals, and clinics. They are very young, ranging from from 1-7 years of age.
Management and staff work on a volunteer basis and depend solely on donations to survive and care for these special need kids. Amongst their challenges, food, transport , building maintenance, and financial aid are the areas that need attention.
In an effort to help these kids, SABC News Eastern Cape will run a soup kitchen for the children and their parents on July 15 as part of Mandela Day. We also appeal for other donations to help the school. You can email touchinglives@sabc.co.za.
