– Yahoo Directory before Google;
– RiCharge plans to release its new product – Super Station
– and the rollout of Blackberry Passport…

Yahoo Directory
Before Google and searching on keywords, there was Yahoo and its flagship product Yahoo Directory dominated the Internet by organizing popular sites into categories.
Yahoo announced Monday 29 September that it is shutting down Yahoo Directory, along with Yahoo Education and Qwiki, on 31 December.
The directory’s name was originally ‘Jerry and David’s Guide to the World Wide Web’ when co-founders Jerry Yang and David created it in 1994.

RiCharge to release new product soon
South African startup RiCharge plans to release soon its new product Super Station, a 12-tray charging station that allows users to charge their devices at a table. The product is the followup on the Secure Locker product, which has eight lockable compartments to keep a user’s phone safe while it charged.

Although the Secure Locker sold about 500 units and was distributed to 13 countries – including the US, Australia, the UK, and some African countries, company founders Alex Fourie and Janine Retgien realised that people are often hesitant to lock away their phones.
The Super Station was designed to address this and will allow people to wait with their phone while it charges.
RiCharge has confirmed that all devices, made after 2007, will be supported by the Super Station.
