SABC management says it supports workers’ right to strike but it’s against any manager intimidating anyone not to strike.

SABC management says it has received reports of intimidation of employees entering the work premises and the blockage of entrance points by those who are participating in the strike.

The corporation has also noted that there are employees who are getting into its buildings to check and intimidate staff in their offices.

SABC workers have been on strike since Thursday. They are demanding a ten per cent salary increase while the SABC is offering four-point-five per cent backdated to October.

“We want to ensure our people that we will do everything in our power to ensure they are not intimidation.  We will raise this matter with the police so that we are able to curb it. And all we can do is to call on those who are on strike to please stick to the strike rules that we have agreed to and make sure you dont intimidate people” says SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago.
