A 19-year-old Cape Town based designer has been selected to showcase his street fashion at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in May. Daniel Moleka is the creative force behind a fresh street-style label – “Red Thread Apparel X”.
He has attended the FEDISA Fashion Design School in Cape Town. Moleka is part of a team of young designers from around the world that will soon showcase their work on the French Riviera.
He says his collection will be a mix of street wear and haute couture, called Immortal.
“It’s really really big opportunity. It’s gonna open a lot of doors for me. I’m really looking forward to it but it’s a lot of stress because I’m going there. But I’m kind of representing African fashion in a way. So it’s gonna be like lot of stress – but a good opportunity to showcase and to get my brand out there internationally.”
